Royal Wedding Street Party

Royal Wedding Street Party

 Royal Wedding Street Party

  • A Royal Wedding Street Party is the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbours, and bring together a street, road or community.
  • Print out some invitations – the younger children will love to use their drawing skills, or older ones can design and create invitations on their computers.
  • Deliver them, personally, to everyone in your street or neighbourhood.
  • When delivery them, put together a list of volunteers to help. Allocate specific responsibilities to a number of households. ‘More hands make light work’!
  • Research where best to hold your Street Party.  You will need permission from your Local Authority – so contact the Traffic Management section at your local council as soon as possible.
  • It is worth considering taking out Street Party Insurance just in case an accident happens.
  • If a Street Party is not feasible then hold the party in your gardens or your driveways – why not have different themes going on at different houses… be creative!
  • Decide how and where you are going to watch the British Royal Wedding.  You could arrange for a screen to be brought into the street or you could watch the ceremony in someone’s house or at a local establishment, such as a restaurant.
  • Share the responsibility of preparing food and refreshments with your neighbours.  Ask everyone to bring their favourite dish!
  • Make sure you have enough furniture. Neighbours can bring tables and chairs to accommodate their family.
  • Organise different activities for all ages, for example face painting for the children and bingo for the adults.
  • Ensure constant contact with your neighbours before the big day and share your plans with them.
  • Order your Royal Wedding Merchandise in advance.  Click here for Royal Wedding Merchandise
  • Good luck and enjoy your party!
